Deer Creek Emergency Escape Hoist

Project Description: Project involves the fabrication and installation of an emergency escape hoisting system for the new Deer Creek Ventilation Facilities at Mountain Coal Company’s West Elk Mine near Paonia, Colorado. The shaft work for this project will be performed by Frontier-Kemper’s Mining Division as part of FKCI Job No. 07.08. The system will consist of a surface mounted hoist, headframe, five person man-cage with steel guidance system and bottom landing station steel.

Bailey Slope Hoist

Project Description: Provision and installation of a turnkey hoisting system for a new slope at CONSOL Bailey's Crabapple operation in Wind Ridge, Pennsylvania. The scope of work includes hoist, foundations, hoist house, controls, ancillary rollers, sheave, and brakeman car.

Sentinel Mine Slope Hoist

Location: Buckhannon, West Virginia
Project Description: Work includes the provision and installation of a new automated hoist control system for the slope at the Sentinel Mine in Buckhannon, West Virginia. The new hoist controls will replace an old 450 HP P&H control system.

Phelps Dodge Henderson Cages

Location: Empire, Colorado
Project Description: Work includes the provision of two new cages for an upgrade to their facilities. One cage is a double deck cage for men and the second is a single deck cage for men and materials. Each of these units contain a workdeck/scaffold with bonnet to be used for inspections and repairs within the shaft. The contract also includes performing an offsite drop test and assembly of the cages on site. The design for the cages was furnished by the Henderson Mine.

Casteel Mine Service Work

Location: Viburnum, Missouri
Project Description: Provision of a service crew at the Doe Run Casteel Mine located near Viburnum, Missouri. The initial phase of work involves the scaling and bolting of the mine ribs and roof at various locations within this large underground lead mine. Additional work may include pillar grouting and other related work, similar to what the FKC-Lake Shore Services Group performed at the other Doe Run Company Mines.

Rondout JV Hoisting Systems

Project Description: Provision of two complete hoisting systems which includes unitized skid mounted hoists with guide rope winches, two cages, and two headframes with sheaves.

Hecla Conveyor and Components

Location: Mullan, Idaho
Project Description: Work includes the design and fabrication of equipment to connect two new ore passes to skip loaders located at Hecla Limited’s Lucky Friday Gold Mine in Mullan, Idaho. The list of equipment to be provided includes structural steel to support the ore pass bin, a vibratory feeder, knife gates for controlling the feed from the ore pass to the feeder, a conveyor belt, and a diverter gate arrangement and hopper that feeds the existing skip loaders. A change order to supply new skip loaders has been added to the existing contract. The contract was extended to include the design and fabrication of new skip loaders.

River View Slope Hoist

Location: Uniontown, Kentucky
Project Description: Provision of a slope hoisting system for Alliance Coal’s River View Mine located in Uniontown, Kentucky. This mine is currently under construction by FKCI’s Mine Development Division. The hoist will be a 9 ft. diameter by 600 hp unit with the capacity to handle 85 tons. Equipment to be provided by FKC-Lake Shore includes the hoist drum, lebus shell, bearings, couplings, and shaft, plus high speed and low speed brake systems.

St. Lawerance Zinc Bottom Dump Skips

Location: Gouverneur, New York
Project Description: Work includes the design and fabrication of two 11-ton bottom dump skips. These skips will replace two older units previously furnished by FKC-Lake Shore. The new skips will have a capacity of 190 cubic ft.

Lake Mead Hoist Controls

Location: Boulder City, Nevada
Project Description: Provision of a motor and a skip hoist control system for the Lake Mead Intake No. 3 Project in Boulder City, Nevada. Scope of work includes a new manual control system for a 1250 HP production hoisting system which will be used to remove shaft and tunnel muck. Work also includes the rebuilding of a 1250 hp hoist motor.

Delbarton Hoisting System

Project Description: This project involves the fabrication and installation of a 30-man service hoisting system. The hoisting system will be incorporated into an 18 ft. finished diameter by 230 ft. deep shaft that is currently under construction. The scope of work includes fabrication of a hoist, headframe, cage, shaft steel, counterweight, controls, and installation of all equipment and shaft steel.

River View Service Hoist

JS Redpath Sheaves

Project Description: This project involves the fabrication of three sheaves for use at the Big Gossan Mine located near North Bay, Ontario. The split sheaves will measure 12 ft. in diameter and will include bearings.
