Frontier-Kemper's tunneling services include mechanical excavation using hard rock and soft ground tunnel boring machines, road headers, shields and other tunnel construction methods, as well as conventional drill and blast excavation. We are experienced with cast-in-place concrete linings, concrete segmental linings, steel linings, shotcrete linings and the installation of steel supports and rock dowels. To date, Frontier-Kemper has constructed more than 70 tunnels, totaling almost 75 miles in length.
